Ticket sales have begun for theWorld climbing series in Koper, which will take place on September 4 and 5, 2026.

Koper was treated to yet another home nation gold from the climbing queen. Janja Garnbret is a gold medal winning machine, and the machine keeps on rolling in Koper as the double Olympic champion won yet again for the 31st Lead gold of her career, and the 49th in all disciplines. Lučka Rakovec, Rosa Rekar and Lucija Tarkuš also climbed in the final in front of the home crowd. In the men's competition, Sorato Anraku won.

Ticket sales have begun for the IFSC Sport Climbing World Cup Koper 2025, which will take place on September 5 and 6, 2025.

The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup Series 2024 is set to return in Koper, Slovenia, with this season’s fifth round of Lead competition, the first one after Paris Olympic Games. Some 134 athletes are registered to compete in Koper: 66 men and 68 women, representing 29 nations and four continents.

On Monday, 8 July, there starts pre-sale of the tickets for the IFSC World Cup Koper 2024, which will take place on September 6 and 7 in Plus Climbing centre in Koper. The first 500 ticket buyers for Saturday's final will receive a special T-shirt free of charge, with which they will also have access to a special area at the venue of the match.

After the huge crowds, great atmosphere, and further Slovenian medals at last year's event, the World Cup circuit returns to Koper once again. We'll see a strong Slovenian team with as many as twenty-one climbers, headed by Janja Garnbret and Vita Lukan, who both have World Cup wins under their belt this season.

In front of his home crowd, Luka Potočar showed he's in great shape by winning his first World Cup gold medal in Koper. Janja Garnbret, the best Slovenian female climber, won silver, adding another medal for Slovenia. The huge crowd gave all the athletes a bit of extra energy and drive and made for a wonderful atmosphere.

After twenty-five years of organizing elite-level sport climbing events in Kranj, the next World Cup will be held in the coastal town of Koper. This year, for the first time ever, the 26th World Cup event will be held at the outside wall of the Koper - Plus Climbing centre on the 2nd and 3rd September 2022. As many as 123 climbers from twenty-four countries will take part, including the 17-strong Slovenian team with the European champion Janja Garnbret.

Olympic gold medallist Janja Garnbret won the 31st World Cup gold medal of her career and her second at the IFSC Lead World Cup Kranj. Young Luka Potočar, who's having an excellent season, claimed his first podium finish. "From the semi-finals on, the Zlato Polje Sports Hall hosted another wonderful event. Six Slovenians in the finals! That's truly incredible," said Luka Fonda, Slovenia Climbing Team coach.

This year, Kranj will host its 25th climbing World Cup event. The world’s best climbers, including the Olympic gold medallist Janja Garnbret, will compete at the Zlato Polje Sports Hall on 3rd and 4th September. 

Slovene sport climbing fans had an intense weekend, with the arrival of the IFSC Lead Climbing World Cup to Kranj. The competition landed in Slovenia with a wide range of possibilities ahead. Before this weekend, on women’s competition Chaehyun Seo from Korea was leading the way with two victories, while local hero Janja Ganrbret closely followed in the second place in the overall ranking.

Over one month after the conclusion of the IFSC Climbing World Championships, the IFSC Lead World Cup 2019 season picks up again, this time with new world champions, Janja GARNBRET (SLO) and Adam ONDRA (CZE) looking to ride the momentum of their latest win to clinch another gold medal.

The IFSC World Cup 2018 is going to take place for the 24rd time in Kranj sports hall Zlato polje (Golden field). On 28 and 29 September you can come in person and loudly encourage Slovenian sport climbing heroes and meet the best sport climbers from around the world. Due to the large number of competitors, we have had to adjust the competition schedule so that the qualifications are going to be on Saturday, September 28, and the semi-finals and finals on Sunday, September 29, 2019.

Slovenia swept the women's lead discipline event at the IFSC Climbing World Championships in Japan's Hachioji on Thursday with Janja Garnbret taking another gold and Mia Krampl silver. This is the second gold medal for Garnbret at this championships after she defended the title of bouldering world champion on Tuesday, and her fifth world championship gold medal overall.

Stefano Ghisolfi of Italy and Jain Kim of Korea returned to the top of the IFSC World Cup podium at the 5th Lead event of 2018 in Kranj, Slovenia. Slovenian finalists Janja Garnbret and Mina Markovič were second and 8th.

Kranj, hosting Lead World Cup events since 1996, again plays a pivotal role in the Lead season this year. Lead athletes are competing for positioning in the season rankings before the two concluding events in October, and performances in Kranj could decide final podiums. Among 126 competitors there are going to be 16 Slovenian climbers.

Slovenian climber Janja Garnbret has won the first ever combined event at a World Climbing Championships, an indication that she will be among the top contenders when the event has its Olympic debut in Tokyo in 2020.

Slovenian Janja Garnbret, Lead World Vice-Champion 2018 in Innsbruck, and Kai Harada of Japan stormed to the top of the Bouldering podiums on 14 and 15 September at the 2018 IFSC World Championships, another Slovenian climber Gregor Vezonik won bronze medal.

The IFSC World Cup 2018 is going to take place for the 23rd time in Kranj sports hall Zlato polje (Golden field). On 29 and 30 September you can come in person and loudly encourage Slovenian sport climbing heroes and meet the best sport climbers from around the world.

The 2017 sport climbing season concluded in Kranj, Slovenia, hosting the 8th IFSC Lead World Cup. The finals were a riveting show of Lead climbing and decided the last podiums of the season.

The 2017 IFSC World Cup season concludes on November 11-12 in Kranj, Slovenia, and this year Bouldering and Lead athletes will compete for the Combined season podiums.

The sport climbing spectacle in Kranj will commence with a lecture by one of the best climbers of all time, who has recently set a new benchmark in sport climbing by completing a route rated at 9c. The Czech Adam Ondra, a three-time world champion and a winner of multiple World Cups, is one of the nicest and most approachable people in elite climbing. You are invited to listen to his stories from the vertical on Thursday, 9 November 2017, at 19:00 at Cineplexx Kranj. The lecture will be in English.

The final competition of the World Cup in Lead will be held in Kranj for the 22nd time, again promising a truly spectacular sport climbing event. You are invited on 11 and 12 November to come and loudly support our heroines and heroes, and to meet the best climbers from all over the world. The tickets are already available at Eventim sales points, at the seat of Planinska zveza Slovenije in Ljubljana are going to be on purchase after 24 October.

Slovenian sport climber Janja Garnbret placed third in the penultimate World Cup event in China's Xiamen on 15 October. She secured the overall Climbing World Cup victory in the women's lead discipline in what is her second feat of its kind in a row.

Slovenia's Janja Garnbret won silver in the women's bouldering competition at the European Climbing Championships in Munich on 19^th August to secure gold in a combined score of three disciplines. Anže Peharc rounded off her feat by taking bronze in the men's bouldering competition.

Slovenian Mina Markovič won on Saturday the silver medal in the women's lead climbing competition at the European Climbing Championships in Italy's Campitello. This is medal number seven for Markovič at the European championships, the most among all Slovenian competitors ever.
